Prof. Zuzanna Kozicka

Zuzanna is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Biological Chemistry and Head of the Laboratory for Proteostasis and Molecular Therapeutics (LPMT) at EPFL. Her research seeks to uncover the molecular principles that govern protein quality control and degradation pathways, and to understand how small molecules can reprogram cellular recognition mechanisms for therapeutic benefit.

Prior to starting her lab at EPFL, Zuzanna studied Biological Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh (UK) and completed her PhD in Structural Biology at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research in Basel (Switzerland). She then carried out postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (USA), where she investigated functional genomic approaches to uncovering drug mechanisms and degradation pathways.

Zuzanna has received several awards for her work, including the SNSF Cancer Drug Discovery Research Award 2025, the AAAS, Science and SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists, and recognition in Forbes’ 30 Under 30.
