Since the beginning of the semester, 9 new master students joined our lab for the TP4a laboratory (Travail Pratique 4a) supervised by 3 of our PhD students. TP4a gives the opportunity for a first “touch” of the experimental particle physics world, by performing practical experiments and data analysis. In particular:
- Riccardo, Laura and Amina will measure cosmic muons and the muon lifetime, supervised by Spencer;
- Bogdan, Emanuela and Ciro will operate an electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) and analyse the acquired data, supervised by Yiyang
- Adam, Valentin and Marlon will study electron source spectra with the beta-spectrometer, supervised by Gauri and with the help of Frédéric.
