Research projects in materials

SMX Semester projects – Fall 2026

In the following we present possible topics for “Research Project in Materials I, II & III – 10 credits” for Master student to be performed during the semester. Selected projects can be performed with accordingly reduced work load (Bachelor 6 :  “Projet matériaux” (5h project – 1h English course, 6 credits) and offered to the Bachelor students.

Possible topics are listed here below. Please contact the relevant assistant at LMGN.

* Characterization of TiN layers deposited with Plasma Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition (PEALD) for 3D Superconducting nanostructures
For more information please contact Oujin Huang  ([email protected]).

* Fabrication and characterization of ferromagnetic Josephson junctions for superspintronics
For more information please contact Ferdinand Posva ([email protected]).

* Investigation of vortex dynamics in 3D superconducting nano-structures using Time-Dependent Ginzburg–Landau theory with COMSOL Multiphysics
For more information please contact Maria Mihaescu  ([email protected]).

* Spectroscopy on spin waves in ferromagnet/ferrimagnet hybrid nanostructures
For more information please contact Giulio Zagari  ([email protected]).
