Wave 1: Mobility I

The Mobility I wave studies the mobility habits of residents of the Lemanic Panel. It focuses in particular on equipment, travel practices and mobility related to work and various reasons for travel, including trips and excursions.

General information
The wave Mobility I is the first wave to have been conducted as part of the Lake Geneva Panel. A total of 10,202 people responded to the survey.

Questionnaire
A range of topics is covered in this first wave. Firstly, daily mobility issues are examined. The aim of this questionnaire is to collect accurate data on the mobility practices of residents in the Lake Geneva region. To do this, we look at various socio-economic factors such as vehicle ownership, driving licence ownership and access to mobility services.
The second part addresses work-related mobility, seeking to understand the frequency of travel, modes of transport and teleworking habits in the Lake Geneva region. At the same time, parking options at the workplace are identified.
In addition, travel habits for activities and excursions, as well as for travelling to any second homes, are also collected in detail.
Finally, the questionnaire addresses the relevance of various modes of transport depending on the type of trip (shopping, activities, etc.).

Statistics
Half of the respondents live in the canton of Vaud and a quarter in France. A fifth live in the canton of Geneva, while the rest are spread across the cantons of Fribourg and Valais. It should also be noted that men represent a slight majority of those who responded to the questionnaire.
