Wave social acceptability of land use planning measures

Focusing on land use planning issues, this wave aims to guide decision-making in the canton of Vaud in the development of the new cantonal master plan for 2050.

General Information

The cantonal master plan (PDCn) is the main tool for steering the canton’s territorial development. Required by the Federal Spatial Planning Act (LAT), it takes the form of a text and a summary map and is a binding instrument for the authorities.

As the current cantonal master plan is no longer suited to today’s challenges, the Directorate-General for Spatial Planning and Housing (DGTL) has initiated a complete revision of both its content and form. In an effort to ensure a participatory approach and to include the population of Vaud in the discussions, a survey was conducted among all participants in the Lémanique Panel.

Questionnaire

Three main themes are addressed in this wave. First, participants were asked to answer questions about quality of life and to indicate actions that could potentially improve it. Second, the theme of the ideal living environment was addressed. Finally, the social accessibility of various developments was studied by asking participants to choose which developments were preferable from two given choices.
