PDM

Students wishing to request that a member of LAPIS assume responsibility for the direction of a Master’s diploma, or for the exercise of tutorship (mentorship), are required to submit a brief proposal setting out their personal motivation, the reasons informing the choice of subject, and a concise description of the theoretical research theme and the project.

No portfolio or bio is required, in accordance with the ethical principle of equality and non-discrimination upon which the activity of the laboratory is founded.

Proposals will be accepted only up to the maximum number determined by the Direction of the Section of Architecture, in order to ensure an equitable distribution among the laboratories.

Preference will be given to applications situated within the disciplinary fields of action of the laboratory, namely architecture, and more specifically to approaches pertaining to Alpine constructive culture, the conservation and preservation of monumental or vernacular heritage, rural and functional architecture, etc., as well as to those proposing modes of inquiry engaging the laboratory’s specific expertise, such as figuration and representation, analogue and digital fine arts, etc.

The theoretical work and the project may be conducted under the supervision of N.B. in French, Italian, German or English, with due regard to the supervision group. A group bringing together members from distinct laboratories is strongly encouraged, with the aim to fostering more fruitful exchange and enhanced interaction between disciplines and perspectives. No role, including that of expertise, is subordinate to that of the direction of the project.

Applications are to be addressed to the personal address of the laboratory member concerned, specifying in the subject line that the request pertains to diploma supervision. No attachments are required. Should any be included, files exceeding 1 MB will be immediately deleted.
