The system (www.mtx.it) exposes a bucket with a 3 L glass beaker to collect only wet deposition during rain events, and dry deposition during non-rainy periods. Species associated with dry deposition were collected on a layer of glass beads exposed to the atmosphere, which were subsequently washed with 100 mL of ultrapure water (Milli-Q system, 18 MΩ.cm) and the solution was analyzed for main ions, including nutrients and water-soluble metals.
