The filters collected from the various samplers will be used in a variety of analysis to characterize numerous aspects of the chemical composition and properties of the aerosols. LAPI is equipped with the necessary instruments for filter analysis e.g.:
- Elemental and organic carbon (EC/OC)
- Analysis for main ions and cations for hygroscopicity and pH calculations and inorganic nutrients
- Metal Analysis
- Offline AMS for PMF source apportionment and OC composition
- ATR-FTIR analysis for Organic Carbon Analysis
- Primary sugars (glucose, fructose, sucrose, mannitol, arabitol) and anhydrosugars (e.g., levoglucosan, galactosan, and mannosan)
- DNA extraction for qPCR and metagenomic analysis
- Lipidomics
