PhD Position:

The GRID-ESS Laboratory is seeking two highly motivated PhD students to join our research team and contribute to cutting-edge research in the areas of active distribution networks, local energy markets, energy communities, and battery energy storage systems.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate should hold, or be close to completing, an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A strong background in power system design, analysis, and optimization is essential.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Solid foundations in power systems and electrical energy engineering.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including linear algebra and optimization techniques.
  • Programming experience in Python and Julia.
  • A genuine interest in research and innovation in power distribution systems and energy storage technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Previous research experience is considered an asset but is not required. We welcome applications from ambitious and motivated individuals with a strong willingness to learn and excel in an academic research environment.
