  • A high definition B/W Nikon DS-Qi2
  • A medium quality color camera DS-U2

The system is piloted on Win10 by the NIS Element Software – Nikon.

Reservation is mandatory. Costs are 2 CHF per hour.

Maxwell® 16

The Maxwell® 16 extraction and purification robot is the first generation of these device family developed by Promega. This robot is intended for general laboratory use in combination to dedicated kits to perform automatic isolation and purification of DNA, RNA and proteins. 16 samples can be processed in 30 to 45 minutes. Handling and processing is intuitive and rapid.

This robot must be booked in advance on the dedicated reservation site (https://reservations.epfl.ch). The costs is CHF 2.- per run.

Precellys 24 tissue homogenizer

Precellys 24 is the original tissue homogenizer from the Precellys range. Its simplicity and efficiency make the Precellys 24 the best homogenizer solution for routine and R&D projects. The Precellys 24 can homogenize many different samples in 30 seconds. A large range of samples can be processed according to already existing protocols.

Retsch MM400

The MM 400 vibro-mill is a compact, multifunctional bench-top mill specially developed for dry, wet and cryogenic grinding of small amounts of samples.

This model mixes and homogenizes powders in seconds. In addition, it is ideal for the disintegration of biological cells as well as for DNA / RNA extraction and protein extraction. Thanks to its high performance and great flexibility, the MM 400 shredder is a unique product on the market. It is specially equipped for the homogenization of samples in 50 mL plastic tubes, in agreement with the classical DNA extraction kits developed by Qiagen.
