Rubén Rodríguez Álvarez of the Embedded Systems Lab has been awarded the School of Engineering’s Teaching Assistant Award.
This is the second year in a row that a teaching award has gone to a member of the Embedded Systems Lab!
Rubén Rodríguez is a final-year Ph.D. candidate in the Embedded Systems Laboratory (ESL) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His research focuses on sustainability in high-performance computing (HPC) datacenters, with a particular emphasis on software-hardware co-design techniques for energy-efficient accelerators. His work explores the intersection of architecture, system-level optimization, and environmental impact, aiming to enable scalable and sustainable computing infrastructures.
The STI Teaching Assistant Award, introduced in 2022, is an initiative of the School of Engineering to reward the extraordinary involvement of PhD students in lectures given in the bachelor and master cycles of the four sections of the school.
Many congratulations to Rubén!
