How to reach us

By Train

Take a train either to Lausanne or Renens (VD)
The CFF website has both train and underground (métro) timetables: www.rail.ch/timetable

  • From Lausanne train station:
    • Cross the Rue de la Gare or take the subway at the East side of the platforms
    • Get a ticket for zones 11 and 12
    • Take the underground (métro) M2 direction CROISETTES
    • Get off at next stop FLON (1 minute)
    • You arrive at Flon level 0
    • Take the stairs or lift to level 1
    • Take the underground (métro) M1 (called TSOL) direction RENENS GARE
    • Get off at EPFL station (around 15 minutes)
    • Follow the instructions “From the EPFL M1 stop”
  • From Renens (VD) train station:
    • Go to platform 1 of the Renens (VD) train station
    • Walk along the platform past the station hall
    • The M1 (called TSOL) last stop is right beside the first track of Renens (VD) train station
    • Get a ticket for zone 12
    • Take the M1 until the EPFL station (around 5 minutes)
  • From the EPFL M1 stop:
    • Walk towards the West end of the platform (direction Renens)
    • In the subway, turn left towards EPFL
    • Climb the stairs and go straight
    • Follow the Diagonale
    • INF is at the end of the Diagonale, on your left
    • You enter INF on the first floor. Most of our offices are straight ahead of the entrance, together with the Processor Architecture Lab (LAP)
    • In case you get lost, there is the Information Center at CM

By Car

  • From Geneva:
    • Take the motorway direction Lausanne/Berne (Bern)
    • Follow the directions to Lausanne Sud
    • Take the exit UNIL-EPFL

 

  • From Zurich and Basel:
    • Take the motorway to Bern/Berne
    • Follow the directions to Genf/Genève (Geneva), Lausanne Sud
    • Take the exit UNIL-EPFL

 

  • Car parks: Parking places (subject to fee) for visitors are available under L’Esplanade and along the Avenue Piccard. Car parks indicated by the green “P” symbol are reserved for holders of a special card.

  • From L’Esplanade take the Diagonale; INF is at the end of the Diagonale, on your left.
