
Each year, the SHS Program strives to give students at UNIL and EPFL the opportunity to take classes together.
These courses address issues at the intersection of the humanities and engineering and have been designed to mobilize and strengthen the complementary skills of this dual audience. Because they share a single campus, students at UNIL and EPFL have the opportunity to learn together—through shared topics and group projects—about diversity of perspectives and scientific collaboration.

Registration procedure for UNIL students:
- For all courses (BA + MA): registration at the beginning of each semester
- Register at UNIL via SylviaAcad / HEC system. If it is not possible to register in IS-Academia (in cases where students are asked to fill out a form to be submitted to their faculty), students must register at the EPFL student office.
- Registration deadline: Friday of the second week of the EPFL semester. PLEASE NOTE: the EPFL spring semester begins on Monday, February 16, 2026!

MISSED THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?
- Late registration is possible at UNIL and at the EPFL student office.
- Late registration fee: CHF 50.
- Final deadline: Friday of the 10th week of the semester.
After this final deadline, it will no longer be possible to register (or take the exam).
