Seminars – Academic Affairs

  • The Seminar Coordinator is responsible for organizing events focused on training and career orientation for students in the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CGC) section. They must organize three main events during the academic year, each with specific tasks:

    1) Orientation Seminar: Chemistry vs. Chemical Engineering (BA3 students)

    • Contact professors by email about one month in advance to confirm their availability.

    • Reserve a room via Médiacom.

    • Be present during the event to ensure everything runs smoothly and assist speakers if needed with setting up their presentations.

    2) Bachelor’s Graduation Ceremony

    • Organized in collaboration with the section, usually with Ms. Karine Brahimi.

    • Reserve an auditorium via Médiacom.

    • Contact graduating students, invite them, and collect attendance information via a Google Form.

    • Finalize the program for the ceremony.

    • Find a class patron (parrain de volée).

    3) Alumni Seminar

    • Contact alumni as early as possible.

    • Potentially coordinate with the EPFL Alumni Center.

    • Reserve a room via Médiacom.

    • Be present during the event to ensure everything runs smoothly and assist speakers if needed with setting up their presentations.
