Facilities Operations

Our Objectives and Mission

The Facilities Operations Service is vital to the smooth running of the EPFL campus. We are responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of technical infrastructure, including Heating, Ventilation, Sanitation, and Electricity (HVSE).

We also handle intervention requests requiring urgent action in cases of security issues, hazards, critical situations, or damage resulting from the malfunction or breakdown of a system, device, or facility.

Additionally, we manage project requests by supporting laboratories and departments in the implementation of renovations, new installations, or technical enhancements tailored to their specific needs.

Working in collaboration with internal technical teams and external contractors, we ensure both preventive and corrective maintenance of all facilities. This approach guarantees service continuity and contributes to the campus’s energy efficiency.

The Services We Offer :

Intervention Requests

To address your needs regarding interventions, layout adaptations, or infrastructure modifications, an intervention request can be submitted via our online form.

Troubleshooting Requests

For any technical problems (breakdowns, leaks, damaged doors, etc.), the CAE is at your service 24/7. They receive alarms from buildings and security devices to enable a swift response.

Documentation for External Companies

To facilitate your work on campus, all necessary information and regulations for external companies can be found in the dedicated documentation.

Energy on Campus

To support the campus in energy management, our teams provide the necessary recommendations, enabling optimised resource use and improved energy efficiency.

Layouts and Relocations

For your requests concerning layout changes or relocations, all the relevant information and regulations are available to simplify your procedures.
