Simplify is an initiative of the President’s Office aimed at promoting a culture of simplification within EPFL and reducing administrative complexity so that professors, laboratory staff, and employees can focus fully on their core responsibilities.

EPFL Rethink
Rethink EPFL is an initiative aimed at strengthening the institution’s foundations by rethinking EPFL together. It consists of five components, the objectives of which are as follows:
- EPFL Ensemble: Define the values that guide EPFL and integrate them into campus life.
- S’EPanouir-FLourish: Evolve the academic programs to better address societal challenges.
- Role and prospects of the intermediate body: Redefine, clarify and highlight the central role of the mid-level faculty in research, teaching, and mentoring.
- Laboratory Management of the Future: Examine and redefine the responsibilities and expectations of professors, beyond mere scientific output, to create a more human, collaborative, and sustainable EPFL.
- Rethinking Governance: Optimize decision-making, delegation, and consultation processes to foster greater transparency, agility, and participation.
