Kamusi: Distributed Lexicography for Global Linguistic Data
The Kamusi Project is a participatory international effort dedicated to improving knowledge of the world’s languages. Our long term mission is to produce dictionaries and other language resources for every language, and to make those resources available for free to everyone. Most of what we know about language is stored in our heads, not our machines. We are developing ways for people to share their knowledge in a systematic way that can underlie the communications technologies of tomorrow. With a goal to build resources for thousands of languages worldwide, our structure and methods aim toward the creation of a full matrix of human expression across time and space
