Eugénie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from France, followed by a Master’s in Fundamental and Applied Cognitive Psychology from Université Paris Cité, giving her a background linking the cognitive-scientific and clinical sides of the field, along with the professional title of psychologist. She began her research by studying post-traumatic stress disorder and its effects on autobiographical self, as part of the 13-November 2015 research program at the NIMH (Human Memory Neuropsychology and Imaging laboratory), before joining the CRNL (Lyon Neuroscience Research Center) to begin her PhD in December 2025, co-supervised by Antoine Lutz and Olaf Blanke.
Her research focuses on the neurophysiological correlates of non-dual meditation (Mahāmudrā/Dzogchen traditions) and their effects on bodily consciousness. This question is investigated using the peripersonal space task, within a neurophenomenological approach. She is involved in launching a larger-scale project studying this state of non-duality, the Nature of Mind (NOM) study. She was awarded the European Varela Award (EVA) 2026.
