
Unnat holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nirma University (India) and a Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (USA). During his Master’s studies, he focused on medical robotics and artificial intelligence, completing his thesis at MathWorks on AI-based motion planning of robotic manipulators.
Before joining the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience, he worked as a Software Engineer at MathWorks, where he contributed to robotics, medical imaging, and AI-driven simulation technologies. His work spanned motion planning, deep learning, and the development of scalable frameworks for medical and autonomous systems.
He will combine his expertise in robotics, AI, and human–machine interaction to explore the neural mechanisms of perception and hallucination. By integrating AI with non-invasive brain stimulation, EEG/MEG, and virtual reality, his research aims to deepen our understanding of perception, cognitive decline, and related neurological phenomena.
