Prof. Z. Rachel Huang

 

Prof. Z. Rachel Huang joined EPFL as a tenure-track assistant professor in chemical engineering in 2026.

She earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University, where she conducted research with Prof. Zhenan Bao and Prof. Yi Cui on the molecular design of polymer materials for batteries. Her postdoctoral training was at UT Austin, where she worked with Prof. Benny Freeman and Prof. Lynn Katz on ion transport in polymer membranes.

Before her graduate studies, she worked at Apple Inc. as a polymer product design engineer. She received her B.S. from UC Berkeley, where she worked with Prof. Phillip Messersmith on hydrogels for drug delivery.
