11.11.2016 Interactive optimization for urban energy system planning

In the framework of the European CINERGY project, in which IPESE is participating, an interactive and multi-criteria optimization tool is being developed. It aims to support decision making in early-stage urban planning, where multiple sectors, scales and actors are involved, by revealing and quantifying tradeoffs and synergies. The main principles and features of the tool can be viewed in the following video.

19.04.16 Poster award

Ligang Wang gave a talk on Advanced Process Modelling Forum 2016 (APMF2016)

The poster, entitled “Simultaneous Process Design and Optimal Utility Selection by gPROMS ModelBuilder”, has been selected as the winner of the academic poster session of APMF2016, organized by PSE. Ligang Wang’s presentation has received attention from both the developers in PSE and industrial attendees.

23.11.15 Inventor of the month

Zlatina Dimitrova was elected inventor of the month of October during the last “inventors day” at PSA Peugeot-Citroën. Her invention is called ​the « Electromagnetic actuator for internal combustion engine valvetrain ».

Zlatina recently passed her thesis defense on “Environomic design of vehicle integrated energy systems”.

23.09.15 Poster award

Alexandre Bertrand has won the second prize at the Set Plan 2015 conference in Luxembourg.

In the presence of the Luxembourgish Minister of Economy and the EU Commissioner Climate Action and Energy, his poster on multi-objective, integrated, regional energy system optimisation was very well appreciated.

The SET PLAN conference took place on 21-22 September 2015 at the European Convention Centre Luxembourg.

22.01.15 Book publication

Leda Gerber thesis has been published as a book.

Dr. Leda Gerber has published with EPFL press (www.epflpress.org) a book entitled “Designing renewable energy systems: a life cycle assessment approach”, based on her PhD thesis.
