ENvironomic design of VehIcule Energy Systems

ENVIES

The aim of this project is to develop a decision-support tool for designing the future energy system options for the automotive industry.

Energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are two major concerns for the automotive industry.

The IPESE is dedicated to developing methods and decision-support tools for the design and the optimization of complex energy systems. IPESE is specialized in sustainable energy systems and industrial processes, taking into account the full life cycle of products and services.

The aim of this collaborative project between PSA Peugeot Citroën and EPFL is to develop a decision-aid methodology that integrates energy efficiency and the development of alternative fuel technologies in the technical, economic and environmental assessments of future vehicles. We will produce an assessment tool able to facilitate the design of energy systems for automotive field by specifically accounting for aspects related to energy efficiency and environmental impacts.

This project will last four years and is led by IPESE. It is sponsored by PSA Peugeot Citroën and is part of the long-term collaborative research agenda between PSA Peugeot Citroën and EPFL.
