SpaNav

Spatial memory and navigation abilities depend on the hippocampus. Our laboratory recently demonstrated that tTIS delivered to the hippocampus can improve spatial navigation in healthy young adults (Beanato et al., 2024, Science Advances).

Deficits in spatial navigation are commonly reported by patients following traumatic brain injury (TBI), such as sport-related concussion.

Our SpaNav project investigates the efficacy of tTIS in improving navigation abilities in TBI patients and in healthy individuals, while examining its neural correlates through neuroimaging (electroencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging).
