2014, Prof. Rachidi has been conferred the title of Honorary Professor of the Xi’an Jiaotong University, China

  

On June 25, 2014, Xi’an Jiaotong University of China conferred Farhad Rachidi, professor and head of the EMC Laboratory at EPFL the title of Honorary Professor.

Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), a national key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Chinese Ministry of Education, is one of the country’s oldest institutions of higher education and one of the top engineering universities in China.

The Electrical Engineering program in XJTU initiated in 1908 is the oldest Electrical Engineering program in China. Today, the XJTU Power Engineering is one of the 5 national key laboratories in China receiving extensive funding and support from the central government. Based on the Ministry of Education’s academic assessment ranking, XJTU is currently the top Chinese university in Power Engineering.

The title of Honorary Professor is the highest distinction given to a foreign scholar. It is a rare honor given to distinguished scientists recognized internationally for their contributions. Recent recipients of the title of Honorary Professor from XJTU include Nobel Prize laureates Martin J. Evans, David J. Gross and Robert C. Richardson.
