The program
Advances in data technologies are enabling the use of trusted data to drive dynamic operations through agile, system-wide connection. This end-to-end value chain connectivity provides visibility for profitable performance and transparency for positive impact. The central pillar to success is trust in data and people. We want you to build that trust.
This program aims to bridge the digital gap for experienced professionals to be catalysts for innovation by bringing ideas and shaping new business models. Inspiring the confidence to assess enabling data technologies, unlocking the value of data and collaborating across stakeholders is key.

Format
Each module consist of 3 full class days (usually Thursday, Friday & Saturdays), in person at the EPFL Campus in Lausanne, Switzerland, along with remote and blended learning. It is designed to enable you to continue your work and study at the same time.
A Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Value Chain Data Technologies is granted by EPFL upon successful completion of all modules.
This program is designed for flexibility: Attending individual modules is also possible (subject to availability).
Module overview
Managing Innovation in the Era of Data and AI
11 – 13 March 2026
Develops a holistic approach to AI and Data Science, ensuring the seamless execution of data-centric projects in a business context. The aim, ultimately, is to equip participants with knowledge and tools to transform uncertainty in Data and AI to their strategic advantage.
Building IoT & Digital Twins Roadmaps
26 – 28 March 2026
Provides the knowledge to identify high-impact opportunities for IoT and Digital Twins, translate business goals into technology roadmaps, and guide informed, future-ready decisions. Gain a deep understanding of how these technologies can drive sustainable, data-driven transformation
Business Model Innovation Lighthouse
16 – 18 April 2026
Gain the insight and confidence to design sustainable, data-driven business model innovations. Through lighthouse cases and hands-on design thinking, this module equips you to explore opportunities, make strategic transformation decisions, and develop a compelling digital transformation proposal for your organisation.
Leading Trusted Digital Transformation
30 April – 2 May 2026
Equip yourself to lead digital change that is secure, responsible, and trusted. This module blends cybersecurity expertise with leadership skills, empowering you to build human and technological trust, engage stakeholders, and drive resilient transformation.

The fee for the full CAS (all modules) is 9’800 CHF.
It is also possible to take individual modules if one only needs to do a deep dive in certain topics.

How to apply?
Applications for the CAS or individual modules are submitted online. You will need:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Diploma & transcript for each degree
- A scan of your passport
- One passport photo (jpg file, minimum 300 dpi)
Applications are taken on a rolling basis; it is advisable to apply at least 30 days prior to the start of the module.

All modules must be successfully completed in order to obtain the CAS
- Each module consists of 3 days of in-person classes, over a period of 3 months
- Class days start at 9:15 and end at 17:15
Each module includes remote and blended learning.
Yes, we have built a flexible learning model to cater to busy schedules.
It’s possible to upskill by attending individual modules if participants are not quite prepared to commit to the full CAS. Participants can then decide to continue with the full CAS program, as long as admission requirements are met.
Multiple module discounts are offered when applying for 2 modules or more.

However, please expected preparation work to start in the 2 weeks preceding the start of the first module. Preparation materials (readings, podcasts, videos, …) will be available on our online learning platform before the start of the CAS.
The program is designed to enable you to continue your work and study at the same time. Total required time investment is approximately up to 350 hours.
