EPFL is striving to highlight women scientists from all over the world, as well as its own female researchers, who have played or are playing an important role in science.

You’ll find below a list of the various exhibitions and projects retracing the career paths of these inspiring women.

STEM Passion

As part of the events surrounding International Women’s Rights Day 2023, EPFL has hosted the STEM Passion exhibition by photographer and biologist Elisabetta Citterio, including seven brand-new portraits of EPFL women professors.

Celebrating Women in Science

On March 8, 2022, for International Women’s Rights Day, EPFL gave the names of pioneering women scientists and engineers to places, streets and paths on its Ecublens campus.

Female Leadership in Science

In 2019, to mark EPFL’s 50th anniversary, the Female Leadership in Science exhibition highlighted the careers of 50 female EPFL professors.

Women in Imaging

In 2023, on the occasion of the EPFL Open Doors, the Imaging Center presented fifteen outstanding women scientists in imaging science.
