En collaboration avec le Service de promotion de l’éducation de l’EPFL nous proposons plusieurs activités mathématiques et participons à différentes manifestations scientifiques

Tout au long de l’année, l’EPFL et le Service de promotion de l’éducation (SPE) organisent des manifestations scientifiques pour les étudiants de secondaire II, manifestations auxquelles participent l’Institut et la Section de Mathématiques. 

Summer School

1011+1101=24 à l’aide de Minecraft

Crée une calculatrice dans Minecraft et additionne des nombres binaires.

EPFL Postdoc Lawrence Hollom Receives 2026 Frontiers in Science Prize

— Lawrence Hollom, postdoctoral researcher at EPFL, has been awarded the 2026 Frontiers in Science Prize by the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) for a paper in Discrete Geometry and Graph Theory published in the European Journal of Combinatorics.

EPFL Professor Marius Tiba Receives 2026 Frontiers in Science Prize

— Marius Tiba, Tenure Track Assistant Professor at EPFL, has been awarded the 2026 Frontiers in Science Prize by the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) for a paper in Fourier Analysis and Harmonic Analysis co-authored with Paul Balister, Béla Bollobás, Robert Morris, and Julian Sahasrabudhe.

Prof. Nicolas Boumal Receives 2026 SIAM Optimization Best Paper Prize

— Nicolas Boumal, associate professor at EPFL, and Andrew McRae, who conducted his postdoctoral research in Boumal's group at EPFL, have received the 2026 SIAM Activity Group on Optimization Best Paper Prize.

Martin Hairer elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

— EPFL professor Martin Hairer has been elected into membership of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the oldest learned societies in the United States.

Journée Georges de Rham: Registration OPEN

— The 2026 Journée Georges de Rham will take place on Wednesday 03 June 2026 in the Polydôme at EPFL, from 15:00 to 17:30 followed by an apéritif. The speakers will be Prof Hong Wang (IHES & NYU) and Prof Emmanuel Candès (Stanford).
