Ce premier volume de l’Atlas Alpinus rassemble les contributions individuelles produites lors de l’édition inaugurale de l’unité d’enseignement. Chaque contribution est le résultat d’une investigation semestrielle combinant travail de terrain, recherche archivistique et redessin critique d’un édifice ou d’un ensemble vernaculaire situé dans l’arc alpin. Ensemble, elles constituent les premières pages d’un atlas collectif de la culture constructive alpine — un outil de recherche conçu pour s’enrichir au fil des éditions successives, et la démonstration que le dessin demeure l’un des instruments les plus précis dont nous disposons pour produire et transmettre une connaissance architecturale sur le patrimoine vernaculaire.
This first volume of the Atlas Alpinus brings together the individual contributions produced during the inaugural edition of the teaching unit. Each contribution is the result of a semester-long investigation combining fieldwork, archival research and critical redrawing of a vernacular building or ensemble situated in the Alpine arc. Together, they form the opening pages of a collective atlas of Alpine building culture — a research tool conceived to grow over successive editions, and a demonstration that drawing remains one of the most precise instruments available for producing and transmitting architectural knowledge on vernacular heritage.
