The Chair of Scientific Computing and Uncertainty Quantification (CSQI) at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for one postdoctoral researcher position. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in at least some of the following areas: numerical methods for deterministic and stochastic differential equations, high-dimensional approximation, uncertainty quantification, optimization under uncertainty, stochastic optimization, reduced order modeling, digital twins, data assimilation, scientific machine learning. The precise research topics will be discussed with the successful candidate, depending on their background and affinities, but should align with the ongoing research in the chair. Candidates are expected to be active members of the CSQI chair, to interact with other members of the group, including PhD students, postdocs, and visitors, to supervise / co-supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s research projects, to participate and contribute to ongoing research projects, and to fulfil any duties required from the department.
