This presentation is about Solar Architecture Studio Teaching at NUS and Singapore’s first Zero-Energy Building, a flagship research project of the Government where local Universities, Industry and Government work together to path the way for clean energy in a sustainable built environment in Singapore.

Associate Professor Stephen Wittkopf is a German Architect working at the National University of Singapore (NUS). In his academic preparation he received a master degree from Technical University of Aachen, a post graduate Diploma from ETH Zurich and a doctoral degree from Technical University of Darmstadt.
Stephen is a passionate researcher and teacher in the area of Solar Architecture, combining research in building physics with architectural design teaching. He holds a joint appointment with the newly established Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), where he is responsible for the R&D cluster on Solar and Energy Efficient Buildings while creating synergies with his home department of Architecture.
Stephen is until July with LESO, where he spends his sabbatical to further his research in Daylight and Building Integrated Photovoltaic. On a similar note, he is member of the scientific committe to design, build and monitor the recently announced EPFL Solar Power Plant project team, which is going to be the largest BIPV system in Switzerland.
