Call of the Night raconte l’histoire de Kou Yamori, un adolescent insomniaque en quête d’une vie nocturne épanouissante, habituellement empreinte d’éternelles introspections. Son destin bascule lorsqu’il rencontre Nazuna Nanakusa, une mystérieuse vampire qui lui offre un aperçu intriguant du monde de la nuit, et qui lui promet l’immortalité pour autant qu’il remplisse quelques conditions…
Cette série représente comme aucune autre la nuit urbaine et parlera à toute personne ayant souffert d’insomnie. Elle explore, entre autres , les thèmes de l’adolescence, de l’identité et de l’acceptation de soi dans une société empreinte de préjugés, au travers du prisme du surnaturel.
