Professeurs boursiers FNS (Chemistry)

This document describes the process for sponsoring a candidate in the institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering.

Generalities

In order to be sponsored by EPFL, a candidate for a Prof boursier award does not need to be nominated as an EPFL PATT (tenure track Assistant Professor) as was the case in the past. Any candidate must, however, pass a selection process.

Description of the selection process

  • The candidate submits his/her dossier (including CV, publication list, research statement, teaching statement, indication of references, motivation letter) to the Director of the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC), Prof. Lyndon Emsley, [email protected] by the end of February.
  • The ISIC Director passes the file to the ISIC Bureau, which discusses the case on the basis of strategic interest for the Chemistry Section in general, and establishes a short list of candidates to be interviewed.
  • The ISIC Director invites the shortlisted candidates for an interview (around mid-April).
  • Based on the interview, the ISIC Bureau proposes to the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences a list of candidates to be supported by EPFL in their application to the FNS.
