Master of Science in Molecular & Biological Chemistry

The Master of Science in Molecular & Biological Chemistry prepares the students to a career in research, combining theoretical understanding of the molecular world and hands-on experience in laboratories. This master is a research-oriented program with a strong focus in the practical work in research labs and projects achievement.

The program allows students to choose from 3 modules (24 ECTS) depending on interest. Each module encompasses 2 or 3 courses dealing with recent research insights from our labs. Beside modules, they select independent courses in molecular or material science for 12 extra ECTS. Students enhance their skills by selecting a Professor in order to carry out a short project consisting in a first research experience (Projects Ia and Ib).

After two semesters, students join a research laboratory as first full-time lab experience being involved in the daily life of a lab team for a period of 4 months. Currently, the program offers a large spectrum of specialization in modern chemistry with about 30 research groups.
