Throughout the academic year, a series of IDEAS Lectures are given by external speakers, both from the academic sphere (post-doctorate researchers or lecturers attached to the ENAC, other faculties of the EPFL or various research institutes) and from the private sector (practitioners, consultants or technologists). Their contributions illustrate in a concrete manner the state of research in the sustainable development of the built environment.
Some IDEAS conferences are directly included in the IDEAS teaching unit and doctoral orientation courses. They allow students to be exposed to concrete case studies and improve their knowledge in the various issues covered in the course Some sessions are dedicated to presentations dealing with city and neighborhood scale, while others concern more specifically matters related to the building and its components.
Other IDEAS conferences, organized in a more autonomous way, are open to a broader audience. They are primarily intended for students, PhD candidates and staff from ENAC, STI and IC schools, but they are also open to any person interested in the addressed theme.
