Dr. Dorina Thanou joined the CIS Collaboration Grant IS for medicine
The CIS welcomes aboard Dr. Dorina Thanou, who started working in November on the CIS collaboration grant on Intelligent systems for Healthcare, which primarily focuses on developing innovative AI solutions for cardiology, in collaboration with Prof. Emmanuel Abbe (SB/IC), Prof. Pascal Frossard (STI), and the cardiology department of CHUV. In addition, she will lead the development of the Intelligent Systems for Medicine and Health research pillar under CIS.
Euclid space cosmology mission received a 3rd SNSF Sinergia grants
Prof. Frédéric Courbin (LASTRO) associated with CIS was allocated, for the 3rd time in a row, a SNSF sinergia grant related to the ESA-NASA Euclid space mission. The grant, to be shared between EPFL (PI), UniGE, UniZH and FHNW will allow to finalize the preparation of the satellite, to be launched by the end of 2022, and will enable the exploitation of the very first data to come.
