Post-doctoral assistant position in number theory and/or ergodic theory
In the context of the ERC advanced grant EQUIARITH, coordinated by Philippe Michel (ETH Lausanne), we invite applications for a position of postdoctoral assistant at ETH Zuerich to engage collaboration with Prof. Manfred Einsiedler and his research group.
We are looking for a candidate with strong expertise in either of the fields related to the EQUIARITH project, especially:
– Dynamics and Ergodic theory on algebraic homogeneous spaces,
– The theory of automorphic forms and associated L-functions,
– Analytic number theory
The position is available from October 1st 2012 for a duration of 21 months until the end of June 2014.
The exact starting date may depends on delay necessary to establish the working contract (which may take up to 3 months for non-europeans)

There is no formal deadline for sending application; however the evaluation process will start on June 15, 2012 and will end as soon as an appropriate candidate has been found.
NB: The position is located at ETH Zuerich; however the successful applicant will be formally employed by ETH Lausanne for the first 13 months, after which the employment will be formally by ETH Zuerich. The duties (teaching for instance) follow the ETH Zuerich guidelines.
