Dr. Shirazi obtained his PhD in Multimedia Communication Systems and Computer Engineering from Brunel University, UK in 2009. In his PhD, he proposed a novel cooperating Broadcast and Cellular Conditional Access System for Digital TV systems. He received his MSc (Distinction) and BEng (Hons.) degrees respectively in Data Communications Systems from Brunel University, UK and Software Engineering from University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran in 2000.
He is a certified PRINCE2 project manager and contributed into many projects concerning with the next generation of digital TV and multimedia communications systems. With over 7 years experience in industry and research projects, he has contributed into the delivery of various technical reports and published more than a dozen papers in world class international conferences and engineering journals. His research interests are focused on the next generation multimedia communications systems and services, QoS/QoE and multimedia security in converged Broadcast, Cellular, and IP-based platforms. He is a member of IEEE, IET and BCS and a reviewer of IEEE Multimedia Transactions and ETRI journals.
