The Soil Mechanics Laboratory organised an international workshop dedicated to Thermoactive Geotechnical Systems for Near-Surface Geothermal Energy at Lausanne-EPFL from the 25th to 27th of March 2013. The scientific organisation has been shared between VirginiaTech, EPFL, University of Cambridge and University of Colorado Boulder. The workshop has been funded by a US NSF grant.
The worshop gathered more than 70 participants and went through:
- Four plenary lectures
- Six breakout sessions with the aim of opening talks on specific aspects of the topic
- Three panel sessions which concluded the discussions.
