GazNat Center visit

On September 26th 2013, the Research Group of the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics has visited the GazNat Center of Operational and Engineering Activities, sited in Aigle (Switzerland, Canton de Vaud).

Gaznat is a company that supplies and transports high pressure natural gas to Western Switzerland, through a network that comprises approximately 600 km of gas pipelines and 45 delivery stations. The network of high-pressure gas pipelines (70 bar) transfers gas to various distributors allowing final clients to receive gas via low-pressure networks (5 bar or less). Currently, GazNat is one of the biggest and active gas distribution Companies in all Switzerland.

Through a synergistic collaboration, the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics and GazNat are building a high-quality competence center on CO2 storage, one of the most innovative topics in the field of civil engineering.
