Dye-sensitized Solar Cells Perovskite Solar Cells Organic Light Emitting Diodes – Development of Chemical Sensors – Photophysics and Photochemistry of Molecular Assemblies

The groups’ focus is Molecular Engineering of Functional Materials for Photovolatic and Light emitting applications. In the field of molecular-based photovoltaic devices, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) have reached an efficiency of over 13%, and the perovskite solar cells 20%.

Prof. Mohammad K Nazeeruddin on Highly Cited Researchers 2021 List

— “EPFL Valais Wallis is proud to announce that Prof. Nazeeruddin has been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers™ 2021 list from Clarivate in two separate categories: Materials Science and Chemistry.

3D chemistry boosts perovskite efficiency to 23.9%

— An international collaboration led by EPFL chemical engineers has overcome a problem in the manufacturing of perovskites that reduces their efficiency as solar panels. The approach produced perovskite solar panels with an efficiency of 23.9% and operational stability longer than 1000 hours.

La pérovskite déclenche une folle concurrence dans le solaire

— Les premiers modules de cellules en pérovskite arrivent sur le marché, concurrençant les panneaux solaires. A Sion, l'EPFL-Valais Perovskite Solar, dirigé par le professeur Mohammad Nazeeruddin, n'est pas en reste. A Neuchâtel, Christophe Baillif, professeur au Laboratoire de photovoltaïque et des couches minces, estime que le pérovskite pourrait devenir compétitif financièrement.
