CO2 sequestration in deep geological formations is one of most suitable solutions for CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage). The challenges for the chair “Gaz Naturel” deal with the understanding and the prediction of the effects of the surrounding environment, of mechanical and chemical changes as well as heat effect during CO2 injection and storage. The interplay between transport, reaction and mechanics is tackled through innovative interdisciplinary research both experimentally and numerically. Our aim is to advance the scientific knowledge and provide reliable solutions to the industry.
