2016-17 BOOK LAUNCH ALL ABOUT SPACE VOL.2

BOOK LAUNCH ALL ABOUT SPACE VOL.2

04.04.2017 The book launch of ALL ABOUT SPACE VOL.2 took place yesterday in the entrance hall of the SG building at the EPFL. The panel discussion was moderated by Ruben Valdez with Teresa Cheung, Mathias Michel and Daniel Zamarbide as invited guests. Following up on The Invention of Space, which explores the very notion and experience of space in a broad and holistic way, Volume 2 of the All About Space series focuses on the construction of spaces as a social and cultural technique. Consequently, it emphasizes the aspects of community and collaboration in building processes. The centerpiece of The House 1 Catalogue is a real prototypical building that has been developed and constructed at the Atelier de la Conception de l’Espace (ALICE) in Lausanne during the past months. It draws on the sparkling mixture of fact, fiction, science, and speculation that has been introduced in Volume 1. Again, it combines theory and practice in an ambitious narrative plot that will be continued in the forthcoming volumes 3 and 4.
