The ACCES Visualization Contest series aims to foster a culture of insightful and visually-engaging representations of scientific / engineering computational concepts and solutions, and solicits contributions from all students and post-docs of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). ____________________________________________________________________________________
All the contest entries will be exhibited as follows:
ME-D Entrance Hall: 26 February to 15 March 2018
BC Atrium: 16 March to 21 March 2018 (with Teaching Computational Thinking 2018)
ACCES web site: from 26 February 2018 (in ACCES Visualization Gallery)
The contest entries were evaluated on the following criteria:
- their creativity, clarity and aesthetics,
- their visual communication of scientific / engineering concepts,
- their effective use of Computational Thinking to formulate the solution that is visualized.
Each category was evaluated independently, with the best entries awarded a monetary prize (1000, 500 and 250 CHF for each category) and an award certificate. Selected entries will also be exhibited in a prominent place on the EPFL campus for an extended period of time.
The Award Ceremony was held on:
26 February 2018 at 12:15 pm in the Entrance Hall of the ME-D building.
Category winners gave a short presentation of their entries. The ceremony provided the opportunity to view all the entries in the static, dynamic and interactive categories.
