ARCH-I, A/RO and the Pole-Sud Cultural Center invite you to an event dedicated to the Romanian Rrom community. Free entrance.
Schedule:
8.30 pm- 9.30 pm, simultaneous projection (on three giant screens) of photos from Romanian Rrom camps, made by the famous Swiss photographer Yves Leresche .
9.30 pm- 10pm, the journalist Lydia Gabor from Radio Suisse Romande, will moderate a discussion about the Rroms situation.
10pm-11pm, movie projection: “Fanfaron, Fanfaron” by Corneliu Gheorghita, a Roman cineaste established in France.
11pm-2am, the discussions can continue around a drink in the Pole Sud bar.

â15 years ago, Luiza decided to make a fresh start in Spain. She left her 3-year-old daughter Cristina in the care of her relatives and took off. When she returns to Romania, the woman learns some shocking truths that were kept hidden from her: Cristina ran away from home, is a drug addict and has a 2-year-old girl who lives in an orphanage. Overwhelmed by guilt, Luiza attempts to save her daughter and thus redeem the mistakes of her youth. To do that, she’s got a tight time frame: one weekend…â

A/RO en collaboration avec ARCH-I annoncent le lancement du livre : « Eurotextes. Le continent qui nous sépare » de Mircea Vasilescu*, préfacé et traduit par Ioana Bot.
A l’aube du nouveau millĂ©naire, la nouvelle Roumanie, libre et dĂ©mocratique, reste difficile Ă cerner. Les Eurotextes de Vasilescu entreprennent de l’expliquer Ă un public Ă©tranger: le «cas» de la Roumanie postcommuniste et europĂ©enne est en soi exemplaire de la rĂ©alitĂ© et des aspirations de ce cher continent qui nous est commun.
La prĂ©sentation et la signature de ce livre, ainsi que le dĂ©bat se fera en prĂ©sence de lâauteur, Mircea Vasilescu, de la traductrice, Ioana Bot, et dâAmbroise Barras de la part des Editions MetisPresses.

EugÚne lira des extraits de La Vallée de la Jeunesse, (éd La Joie de Lire, GenÚve, 2007), un roman autobiographique racontant sa jeunesse à travers 20 objets: 10 qui lui ont fait du bien et 10 qui lui ont fait
du mal. Et Ă©galement des extraits du Dernier Mot (sorti il y a un mois), un savoureux recueil de chroniques parues dans la revue d’architecture TracĂ©s.”

Réunion roumaine à Vevey
January the 10th, near Eminescu’s statue in Vevey
Ten years have passed from revealing Eminescu’s statue on Leman Lake’s shore. The statue was made by the sculptor Andreia Bove and offered by the Romanian Embassy in Bern to the city Vevey. There is a tradition that every year, in January, the Romanians in Switzerland reunite in Vevey to celebrate the poet’s birthday.
