PhD Position in Coordination Systems
The React Group is currently carrying out investigations on the coordination and intersection of autonomous agents in dense settings with applications to civil drones with Honeywell, autonomous and connected cars with PSA, and astrometry with ESO. In this framework, predictive and optimal control, as well as reactive approaches based on navigation functions are developed.
The main topic of the PhD will be related to the coordination of distributed agents taking simultaneously into account localisation, communication, interaction, and coordination constraints. Possible applications could be the deployment of lightweight autonomous and connected vehicles in intermodality areas or the deployment of advanced optical fiber positioners in the next generation of telescopes.
The candidate should preferably hold a Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. in electrical, computer or micro engineering), have experience in control and embedded systems, as well as interest for both methodological and empirical investigations. Fluency in English is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to publish research results, attend conferences and actively collaborate in the lab activities including interaction with master students and participation in teaching.
The position is expected to start at the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018.
