The EPFL Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (Prof. Dario Floreano, http://lis.epfl.ch) at EPFL Lausanne invites applications for several PhD fellowships in design and prototyping of multimodal and adaptive flying robots. We aim at developing robots that achieve the agility of birds when they fly through narrow passages or land and walk on tree branches. Such robots would be able to fly and reach destinations that no other robot can.
Candidates should have a master degree in fields related to Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Micro-engineering. Previous exposure to drone design and control is an advantage.
Candidates should apply to the EPFL Doctoral School in Robotics, Control, and Intelligent Systems and mention this position in the application letter. For more details please check: http://phd.epfl.ch/application. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
