As part of a joint initiative of the Schools of Engineering and Life Sciences, the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for multiple faculty openings at the Tenure Track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor levels.
We seek candidates committed to a career in teaching and research at the interface of engineering and neuroscience in areas including but not restricted to neurocomputation, neuroengineering, neurotechnology, neurorobotics, biomaterials, optogenetics, gene-editing technologies, gene therapy, translational research, and clinical research. Candidates whose research crosses relevant disciplines are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidates will join a dynamic EPFL community that is driven by neurodiscovery and technological advances, with the ultimate goal of translating innovation into new interventions and therapies.
We anticipate the new faculty members be able to build scientific interactions with the EPFL Centre for Neuroprosthetics, the Brain Mind Institute, the Blue Brain Project, and the National Centre of Competence in Research in Robotics, and with partner institutions such as the Wyss Centre, the Fribourg Translational Neuroscience platform, the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva and their associated hospitals, and the Swiss Rehabilitation Clinic in Sion.
Each new professor will have a joint appointment in the Schools of Engineering and Life Sciences of EPFL, with one school being their primary affiliation based on expertise and teaching focus. The new professors will operate in state-of-the-art labs across EPFL facilities in Lausanne, Geneva, Neuchatel, Fribourg and Sion. Commitment to open science and data dissemination will be positively valued.
Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, concise statements of research and teaching interests as well as the names of at least three references for junior positions or five references for senior positions. Applications must be submitted in pdf format to:
Formal evaluation of candidates will begin on December 14, 2018 and the search will continue until the positions are filled.
